Photo of Virgil not quite staying put during a tie up. He was just brushed and loves his brushing. As long as I brush him he stays still but June is the month he will master the tie up for a more extended length of time.Grooming is the foundation of developing a relationship with your donkey. Donkeys, being social animals, groom each other. They seem to enjoy the contact. Donkeys learn to relax and develop trust while being groomed. Grooming is the gateway to developing the trust needed to pick and trim the hooves, stay put while tied up, and probably other things I have not discovered yet.
